 Training Course
 
 The training course is existing programme “Hydrographic Data Processing and Marine Cartography” run periodically by the UKHO and that was recognized at Category B level by the FIG-IHO-ICA International Board on Standards of Competence for Hydrographers and Nautical Cartographers.
The intention would be to organize a special course for the selected candidates.
   The course consists of three modules,
 
・ Marine Cartography        ・・・  5weeks
・ Hydrographic Data Processing  ・・・  5weeks
・ Electronic Navigational Charts  ・・・  5weeks
 
 The three modules have implemented at the UKHO in Taunton.
 The applicants should be requested good standard of English, both speak and written, in particular technical English.
 Applicants will also be requested to have good mathematics and geography background.
 
 MODULE 1 - MARINE CARTOGRAPHY
 A practical introduction to marine cartography and chart construction.
 This module is recognized as part of the FIG–IHO–ICA Category B Certificate in Nautical Cartography.
 
 MODULE 2 - HYDROGRAPHIC DATA PROCESSING
 A practical introduction to hydrographic data processing, data assessment and resulting chart maintenance.
 This module is recognized as part of the FIG-IHO–ICA Category B Certificate in Nautical Cartography.
 
 MODULE 3 ELECTRONIC NAVIGATIONAL CHARTS (ENC)
 A highly practical introduction to the Electronic Navigational Chart(ENC), international standards for ENC, and the production and maintenance of ENC data.
 This module is recognized as part of the FIG–IHO–ICA Category B Certificate in Nautical Cartography.
