| NAVAREA XI Navigational Warnings |
The World-Wide Navigational Warning Service consists of 16 Navigation Warning
Areas(NAVAREAs).Within each NAVAREA,one national authority is designated
as the Area Coordinator who has responsibility for information management
and warning issuance.Japan is appointed as the coordinator for NAVAREA
XI. NAVAREA XI issues navigational warnings in English,though Enhanced
Group Call (EGC)via INMARSAT stationary satellite.Its information is also
available on the Internet. |
| NAVTEX Navigational Warnings |
NAVTEX is an international standard method for broadcasting coastal navigational
warnings.It sends message in English and Japanese.NAVTEX service around
Japan consists of 5 areas. Each area covers up to 300miles from the coast.
Its information is also available on the Internet. And you can access local
area information less than about 50km from the coast using a cellular Phone(Japanese
version only.) |
